Jump City!

Today we drove to Westminster to try out a new place called Jump City, a huge in-door trampoline park! Since it was cold out, we needed an activity to burn some energy. Sierra was very excited about the choice!

As soon as we arrived, we tried the dodge ball area for the little kids. Audrey loved bouncing and throwing soft sponge balls at me.

Sierra, the socialite, found a new friend and bounced around with her on the big trampoline area with ramps, a rock climbing wall, a stairway and slide!

Victor and I felt young again for the first hour bouncing along with the girls. After 2 hours, the girls were ready to keep on going but we were exhausted!

It was a wild afternoon and a lot of fun!

Thanks G-daddy & Susu

The girls were excited to get a Valentine's Day care package from Grand-dad and Susan. Cute stuffed animals and chocolate!

Audrey was especially excited to get her new cute stuffed animal because her class won a competition and as a prize they got to bring their favorite stuffed animal to school! She brought "Patches" her cute spotted kitty cat.

Sierra was excited to have a new stuffed puppy to sleep with, along with the 25 other stuffed animals she sleeps cute! Thank you grand-dad and Susan for being so thoughtful!

The girls had their gymnastics class today. Since it was Presidents' Day, many of the kids didn't show up. With only 4 kids in the class, the girls got plenty of attention for the lessons and earned a white ribbon! That means they advance to the next level of gymnastics training! Way to go girls!

Break Dancing Birthday

Audrey was invited to her friend Simone's birthday party at a break dancing studio. All her friends from school were there so Audrey felt right at home.

They played Duck Duck Dance, Copycat, Freeze Dance, and they learned a few dance moves.

During Duck Duck Dance, Audrey did a back shoulder stand and a backwards roll. She was so confident and proud. Way to go Audrey!

Sierra's Singing Pageant & PBL

Thursday night, Sierra and her 2nd grade class performed a Singing pageant on stage. They sang 3songs, of which Sierra's obvious favorite was "just say please." She knew all the words and danced a bit in place with her friend Iris. She had a wonderful smile full of excitement.

After the singing portion, we were directed to each of her classrooms to see her science projects for PBL (project based learning).

Sierra made a rollercoaster using recycled materials. She explained that force pushes the marble down the slope and friction brings it to a stop at the end.

She also created a store display that sold stress balls. Her sales offer or promotion was "2 for 1" and her team sold them all!

Last, she presented a video showing a collection of images that were either "needs" or "wants". Sierra quickly explained that the puppy image was a need!

We were so proud of Sierra and her smart projects! Way to go'

The 100th Day of School

To celebrate the 100th day of school, Audrey's kindergarten class dressed up as 100 year olds. Audrey's costume was a mix of floral patterns, lace, chiffon, pearls, bifocals, stockings and furry slip-on shoes. Her hair was a beautiful sparkling silver and she carried a wooden cane her daddy made her.

Leading up to today, she practiced walking with a hunch and speaking of whipper-snappers, how she was slow because she broke her hip, and she had trouble hearing. The acting was award winning and very funny. Have a great 100th day at school Audrey! We love you.i

Happy Valentine's Day!

At school the girls both had Valentine's Day parties at 3:00pm. Victor showed up for both bouncing from one party to the other so they would both know he was there! It was a huge candy, cupcake, cookie extravaganza!

At home we celebrated with a nice meal and chocolate covered strawberries! Yum!
happy valentines fay to all.

Visiting Genesee

While visiting Genesee this past weekend, we drove around a winding corner to discover a herd of elk!

They were quietly migrating up the mountain and happened to be crossing the road when we approached. That was a sight we will never get tired of seeing!

Dramatic Hair Cuts!

Usually when we get the girl's hair cut, it's no big deal. The biggest question we have is, "Do we cut the bangs or let them grow out?" But today was different.

For months, Audrey has been wanting a shorter cut. At our last salon visit she made me promise to let her do what she wanted. She argued her point well by saying, "You can do what you want to your hair, so I should be able to do what I want with my hair." She was confident and unwavering, so I went with it.

Today was the day. As promised, Audrey did exactly what she wanted and had the beautician take 5 or 6 inches off her length! I nearly fainted, but she was happy, and that's all that matters!

Sierra wasn't planning on doing anything dramatic, but after Audrey cut her locks, Sierra also wanted shoulder length hair! So I went with the flow.

I see my future clearly now...strong-willed girls making their own life decisions. This should be a fun ride!

Going to school...

With Victor traveling, I had the pleasure of getting the girls ready for school on my own. They got early morning kisses from daddy at 6:30am, but after 7:00, it was just us girls!

I picked them up at 3:45 and we went trailer to gymnastics. They balanced on beams, vaulted off launch pads, and performed round offs and cartwheels - such a sight to see!

After class the girls wanted to get their hair cut, so we did.

Happy 6th Birthday Shay!

Shay turned 6 today and had a party at GameWorks, a local arcade. Sierra and Audrey ran around playing games with their friends & winning tickets. Midway through the party, we sang to the birthday girls and ate too much pizza and cupcakes.

Above, Sierra is pictured with her friend Linley.

At the end of the party, the girls won enough tickets to buy blue and green slime - Sierra's favorite!

Walking Sloan's Lake Park...

Today was a beautiful 60 degree day, so we went to Sloan's Lake Park for a fun 2.6 mile walk.

With beautiful wide open spaces, a big lake, and parks all around, we walked the entire loop and met lots of friendly dogs along the way!

What a great way to spend the day!
