Denver Art Museum

Today we went to the Denver Art Museum. It was a great adventure. The girls were immediately drawn to the costume design studio where the draped fabric and accessories over models.

The girls also got to sit at an artist's table and draw their own characters!

The highlight of our day was seeing the Star Wars costume exhibit. All the famous character's costumes were in display including, Chewbacca, Han Solo, Queen Amadala, Yoda, Darth Vader, Rey, c3po, bb6, and r2d2.

After Star Wars, we found a children's book illustrator's art featured in a larger than life 3D exhibit. Sierra and Audrey hung on the moon, flew through the sky on a winged chair and traveled in a whale's belly! So much fun, beautiful art!

We can't wait to go back to see and do more!

Bowling Night!

Thursday afternoon, we went to the Monaco Lanes bowling alley in Aurora. It was our first family bowling experience since Sierra got her hand stuck in the ball return track in Rhode Island. She was brave and fearless today.

Victor was the clear leader throwing strikes and spares in every frame. Sierra followed suit throwing a strike of her own to start off our second game. Audrey had the best form of all. Each time she was up, she would set up her aim with great precision.

We had a lot of fun playing together. In the end, we all won! Afterwards, we went to eat at Bonzai Sushi. The home of 100 rolls was great! And, we'll be back again!

Ice Skating Downtown

Today we took the train downtown to walk around the 16th street mall, and to have dinner together. After walking around our plan became clear. The girls wanted to go ice skating so we went to the Cheesecake Factory next door for dinner.

As night fell fell, the temperature was dropping, so what should have been 34 degrees felt more like 25 with the slight wind.

We were all bundled up and the gitls had energy to burn. After dinner, we got our skates and hit the ice.

Sierra, a natural on the ice, improved after only a few minutes of practice, while Audrey was still shaky and needed my help. We warmed up pretty quickly after circling the rink a dozen times.

We had a lot of fun and may come back tomorrow!

The Denver Aquarium

Today we decided to try something new and ventured to the Denver Aquarium. It was small compared to the Mystic Aquarium in Connecticut, but the girls enjoyed seeing sharks, mermaids, bengals tigers, and lots of other sea life.

They got to feed stingrays, get their faces painted, and see a flash flood.

After our fun, we had dinner at the restaurant complete with a shark rice crispie treat for the girls, them we saw a 4D movie about coastal predators - Very educational and fun!

Bounce house fun

With the ice and snow still covering most of the parks and streets in denver, I took the girls to the Bladium bounce houses to expend some energy.

They met new friends and had a blast!

Merry Christmas!

Our Christmas day was filled with fun even though our girls had terrible coughs. They were getting sick days before Christmas and we were hoping it would pass in time to celebrate. Fortunately, they both had the strength to open presents throughout the day!

Feeding the Reindeer

The girls made reindeer food by mixing oats, sugar and glitter, then sprinkled it all over our yard on Christmas Eve night. It was a beautiful sight to see the joy in their eyes and hearts as they anticipated the reindeer arriving at our house.

Breakfast with Daddy

This morning the girls started their winter holiday. With no school on the agenda, Victor had a special surprise for his girls. After dropping me off st the train station, he took the girls to breakfast at IHOP!

According to Sierra and Audrey, there is no better way to start the day than with pancakes!

The Capacci Christmas Party

Saturday night we walked across the street to the Capacci's house for their annual Christmas party.

It was so much fun. With delicious food, holiday cheer, gingerbread house activities, ornament making and a photo booth, there was never a dull moment!
Merry Christmas to all!

Sledding!

Saturday morning it was freezing, about 4 degrees to be exact. But that didn't stop our adventurous Sierra! She and her daddy braved the cold to find the perfect, pristine hill...just a few blocks past our house in the new park.

Sierra and Victor were the only ones on their perfect little hill. They had a great time cutting new lines in the snow!
