Thank You Mimi!

The girls loved getting surprise gifts from Mimii today. They were very excited to find fun Fall pillows, accessories, games and coloring books. Audrey very appropriately stated, "today is the best day ever!"

So thank you Mimi for the wonderful gifts and for your thoughtfulness! We love you and miss you tons.

Fall Festival

After church today, there was a fall festival beside the parish hall. There was yummy food, a silent auction, face painting, and games. The girls had a great time and we won a bird feeder basket. Sierra was so happy. We hung a suet feeder on a branch beside our fence, which will sttract wild birds, and especially woodpeckers.

The kit also came with a squirrel proof bird feeder, that Victor needs to mount on a pole, as well as a hummingbird feeder.

Audrey Loves Tilly

Audrey loves kitty cats and cute little flurry puppy dogs. Below she gives Tilly a hug!

A Ladybug Finds Sierra

With ladybugs in short supply this season, one red winged beauty found her way to Sierra while she was riding her bike.

Twin braids ...

While running errands after church, we stopped by the mall to get Sierra's hair cut. Instead of a blow dry, Sierra opted to have a braid instead!

Once she got the braid, her sister cried tears because it wasn't fair that she didn't get the same braid. So guess what we did? Twin braids!

Grand-pop's Day

Today would have been Victor's dad's birthday! We miss him a lot and still enjoy thinking about him, praying for him, and celebrating his life. Before church today, Sierra wrote a prayer for Reverend Virginia to read out loud in the children's sermon honoring him. Below is what she wrote:

Kiley and Raja Visit

After art class we invited Kiley and Annabel to our house for fun  and games. Raja joined us after lunch. We ran around, played ball, hula hooped, helped our neighbor take down her pool and splashed in the wake of the pools mud puddle. Sierra got so stinky and muddy we had to shower and soap her up twice to get her clean!
Saying goodbye after such an adventurous day was sad.

We love art class!

Today we enjoyed another art class and made collages out of construction paper. First we made tree trunks by tracing our hands and cutting them out. Then we used colored tissue paper to makes leaves, the sun and the grass and added sequins and sparkles as the finishing touch! I folded origami birds got everyone to glue down. It was so much fun!

Below are the beautiful creations the girls made!

Archery training ...

Victor is training our girls to hunt and defend themselves. Not only is Sierra loving her karate class, Victor has been giving them tips and practice time with their bow and arrow sets! I am so proud of how brave the girls are and how curious they are to learn new things!

Open House at Fishing Cove

We missed Audrey and Sierra's open house but thanks to our friend Michelle, we got a sneak peek at TGIF artwork Audrey has been working on in her class.

From learning letters, to drawing family and self portraits, Audrey is quite the creative one!

We are do proud of her and how great she's acclimating to school and projects. Way to go Audrey!

The Last Splash!

With summer ending, we decided to take a last splash in our neighbors pool. Audrey loves that she is tall enough to stand in the pool now. And, Sierra goes full tilt on jumping and splashing Audrey and I. Nevermind the water was about 60 degrees and we were freezing our butts off. We had a great time anyway!

Accessorizing!

Audrey had fun sharing her jewelry with Lacie! She dolled up her pony with a crown, bracelets for earrings and a sparking jeweled necklace! After all, everyone looks better with the right accessories!

We love the carousel!

One afternoon we headed to the mall for lunch and a quick ride or two on the carousel. The girls were pleasantly surprised and we got lots if extra kisses and hugs for the visit.

The last blooms of summer ...

The girls love flowers. As the weather gets cooler, many are cutting back the flowers and blossoming shrubs. Auntie Donna has some of the biggest azaleas around and the girls are happy they are still in bloom!

Saturday Art Class

This weekend the girls had their first of 6 Saturday afternoon art classes. The class was held down near town beach so after making beautiful, colorful wind chimes we played in the sand at the beach!

We love tree climbing ...

The girls love climbing trees. Unfortunately, we don't have any in our yard. So the girls spotted the closest tree in the church's backyard and quickly climbed it. Sierra loves getting super high, then jumping out into her daddy's arms!

Playtime with Shred

Last Thursday, we were surprised with an impromptu visit from Shred, the office bulldog. She stayed for a couple hours just after dinner. Shred is still a puppy with razor sharp teeth, so Sierra thought wearing her rain boots would make the puppy visit more fun and less painful on her snacked! Audrey quickly chimed in And got her ladybug boots to protect her ankles too. From then on, the visit was fun and bite free! The wore Shred out and she slept all the way home!
