Lyme disease strikes again!

This morning we woke up and discovered a ring around a bite mark on Sierra's waistline. She spiked a fever of 103.3 and had complained of headaches over the past few days. All of the sudden we realized it was Lyme. So we rushed to the hospital where she was diagnosed.

Most likely it was Lyme, but unfortunately there are 3 different bacterial infections that it could be. And we won't know until the lab work returns the results in1-2 weeks!

Sierra was so brave when they drew 4 viles of blood. She watched the entire process without flinching.

Later this evening, we rushed to the Hasbro children's hospital when her fever spiked to 104.4. Which is where we are now... (To be continued)

After a late night at the emergency room at hasbro, we had a lazy Sunday. Sleeping in until 7:30, watching Frozen, the movie and drawing all day. Even though it was beautiful outside, Sierra needed to keep cool and out of the sun.

She's on a mega dose 3x daily of amoxicillin and her fever continues to linger around 102. We're watching her close and hoping this infection doesn't turn for the worse.  For now, all is good. Sierra seems to be on a plateau. We'll let you know more after a few days.

Summer Track Camp

Sierra loves to run. She can out-run most boys in her class. She thinks being fast is really cool...and so do we!

When we heard about the East Greenwich track camp, we were so excited and knew Sierra would be too.  Each Wednesday for 4 weeks, kids gather from all over to learn about track and other field sports such as long jump, shot put, relays and hurdles.

Sierra did great on her first night and won the 55 yard hurdle! She also came in second on the 100 yard dash- even racing against boys older than her!

Take a peek at her evening fun. By the time she got home, she was exhausted! So much fun!

Our Saturday Morning...

Today was "bring a friend to ballet class" so we thought Audrey would like to experience a class with her big sister. After all, Audrey watched and learned the entire routine to learn Sierra's ballet and tap classes. When she tried to go in and got nervous, Sierra was very compassionate and hugged her tightly to abide her fears. Unfortunately, it didn't work, and she had to leave.

We promised a great surprise after ballet, so we went to the "critter hut" to see if we could find a pet.

Sierra fell in love with a guinea pig named "Asland." She wanted to take him home, unyil she saw the fish, then the lovebirds!
After visiting the pet store, we had lunch and then went to the pet refuge.

There we met Constance, the cat, and both girls fell in love.
We're not sure, but out of 200 cats Constance was the best! We may adopt her later this week after she's spayed.

Glass Beach...

Summertime means beach time to the girls. So every chance we get we walk, skip, or ride our bikes to the beach. After Sierra's graduation we went yo the local beach by the pier. Sierra calls it "glass" beach because she finds sea glass everywhere! (It's actually broken bottles, but Sierra thinks it's sand molded by lightning into beautiful, natural glass).
Below see photos if the girls playing on the shore looking for "sea glass!"

 Happy summer vacation to all!

Before & After...

It's amazing to see how quickly Sierra is growing and learning. At her graduation today we noticed her artwork on the ckassroom walls showing art from the Fall of 2013.

...compared to the spring of 2014.

In just a few short months, Sierra's artistic talents have exploded! She loves to express herself through words and drawing, and she is eager to learn more! Her curiosity is highly energetic snd she loves new adventures. Wish her luck on kindergarten next fall!

For the summer we're planning a fun party and traveling to Florida to see the grand-parents!

Sierra's Graduation

Today at 2pm, Sierra graduated from her pre-k 4 class, and her teacher, Miss Becca, announced they are "off to kindergarten!!" We are so very proud of Sierra.
In her graduation ceremony, her class sang songs, acted out the words and showcased their artwork. It was a wonderful display.
Below Sierra receives her diploma from Miss Becca.
...and she poses with her two girlfriends, Sarah and Kylee.

We had a special family pose with her teacher, and introduced Audrey to her new teacher, Miss Becca, when she joins Fishing Cove for her pre-k 3 class in September!

We had lots of fun, complete with cupcakes, and brownies!
Happy graduation!

Audrey Saves a Baby Bird...

Today while shopping in the garden
section at Wal-Mart, Audrey witnessed a baby bird fall from the rafters. She rushed to save it and had Victor notify the manager. They created a home for it in a box with fresh birdseed and hope it rests and recovers quickly. Audrey has such a kind and compassionate soul!

Happy Father's Day

Our morning began at 5:45 am when Sierra woke up and realized it was daddy's day! Although a bit earlier than we would have chosen, Sierra charged into our room wanting to show daddy what she made him!

After a special Father's Day breakfast of eggs benedict, we filled the pool to enjoy our day outside!

With daddy off on a peaceful ride through town, we ventured to town beach for some sand castle building and splashing in the water at low tide. It was a great day! Below are a few photos from our beach outing.

Recital Day

Our day started early making daddy a few Father's Day crafts. Then after breakfast we started our recital preparations. After lots of conditioner, hair gel and bobby pins, plus a touch of makeup, both our girls were ready for the show!

Bow Sierra poses with friends before her first dance.
Posing with Mommy and Audrey after Sierra did a great job on her first dance!
After the ballet routine, Victor took the photo of her group's grand finale bow...Sierra is third from the right.
Below is the entire dance group. Sierra is far left.

After the show, daddy presents Sierra with her rose bouquet and gets a few hugs and kisses!

Field Day at Fishing Cove

In spite of the rain Sierra's field day at school ended up being great. There was a bounce house, face painting, a karate class, and arts & crafts.

Audrey Plays with the Butterflies!

Having butterflies as pets are no fun if you can't play with that's what we did!  We opened them up on the porch to let them stretch their wings.

Every time a butterfly landed on Audrey she let out the biggest, loudest laugh! It was hilarious!
