The Zoo's New Treehouse!

We made a special trip to the zoo on Saturday to visit their new treehouse called, Our Backyard! It was lots of fun and we learned about bugs and insects and splashed in their water area. Take a peek at our fun afternoon...
A view from the back of the treehouse....
Playing in the streams and water activities at the zoo...

Below is a fun video showing Audrey playing with a water hose and getting a big laugh!

Audrey met a new friend at the kaleidescope, and loved looking at the pretty colorful leaves moving all around...
After a full day at the zoo, Audrey slept on the way home....looking so peaceful and serene!

A Surprise for the Girls!

Yesterday, we got a wonderful surprise from Grand-Dad and Su-Su (Dave and Susan)! Two adorable hats -- perfect for wearing on hot summer days like today, and 2 cute finger puppet books!
Thank you so much for thinking of the girls! We read the books about 10 times each at home, then went to the park wearing the hats and looking super cute!  As you can see, Audrey LOVES to smile for the camera! Sierra is busy running around and playing on the swings behind her!

Happy Friday!

Sunday Night Ice Cream Party!

After dinner Sunday night, we splurged with ice cream cones!
This was Audrey's first ice cream cone (mint chocolate chip) of her own, and she was in heaven eating it all by herself without sharing!

Pool Party at Our House!

Summer time is here, so we bought a pool for the girls to play and cool off in. Sunday afternoon Victor assembled it and filled it up. It was an instant success. After finger painting poolside, we washed off in the pool. It was a wonderful afternoon...
Both girls loved cooling off wading in the water and sliding on the water slide...
Audrey was shy at first...
...But she got used to it after a while and was all smiles.
Then both of the girls ganged up on Mommy!

More Photos Meeting Thomas...

We had such a good time meeting Thomas and Sir Topham Hat, below are the photo opportunities we had while visiting the park...

And, more photos to share of our day out with Thomas...

Our Day Out With Thomas!

Sierra was so excited for it to be Saturday because she knew we were going to meet Thomas and Sir Topham Hat from her favorite animated show, Thomas the Train.  However our trip to see Thomas didn't start out as we had hoped it would.

At noon, we were halfway to Massachusettes when all of the sudden Audrey starts to throw up! Not once, but three major expulsions!  Anywhere but her carseat, this unfortunate circumstance would have been quickly resolved, but we were in the Acura, on the move! Then, after stopping and cleaning the mess, we were just about to leave the gas station, when Sierra falls on the pavement from an unexpected step and scrapes her knee and elbow pretty bad. Tears, the smell of vomit and a hot summer day did not add up to a great start to our Thomas adventure...
But, once we got there, even when our GPS failed us, it was all fun and giggles...We met Thomas, rode on Clarabelle around the park, had a photo opportunity with Sir Topham Hat, the owner of the railway, and enjoyed a carnival with rides and slushies in between!
Before riding Thomas, we played in the park...
And learned a lot about steam engines...
We took lots of photos...
Enjoyed our ride on Thomas through the countryside and waterscapes...
Took more photos...
Talked about Mr. Alligator and the fishes...
Rode on a super fast merry-go-round...
... that we hoped would end faster than it did!
And we took a lot more photos of Thomas and his friends.
Sierra and Audrey had a fabulous time and continue to talk about all the fun and misadventure we had with Audrey.
On the way home, Audrey had another episode of throwing up...thank goodness we brought lots of changes of clothing along the way. We were thinking it could be car sickness, since Audrey was so resilient afterwards, but if you ask Sierra, she'll tell you, "Audrey's got a bug!" and, "stay away from her she might throw up on you!"

Audrey is fine and no further episodes have occurred since we got home. We're chalking this one up to "the joys of parenthood", and happy that we have the ability to turn bad times into the best of times. Happy Saturday everyone!

Adorable Audrey!

Audrey is growing up so fast and doing all the things Sierra loves...like pretending to be a kitty cat!  It looks like Audrey found Sierra's leopard ears and decided to try them on for a while!  One word describes her best...ADORABLE!

Yea! Our Neighbor's Got A Pool!

As we approach the official first day of summer, the weather is getting hot. Today's High was 100°F at 6:05pm! Fortunately, our neighbors got a pool! Victor and the girls had a blast enjoying the water to cool off...
What a perfect way to spend a beautiful sunny day!
Audrey even took a dip, but mostly just splashed her hands in the pool!
Afterwards, it was popsicle time!  Happy summer everyone!
Victor sent me these photos around 4:30pm today, along with the best video! It made me smile from ear to ear. I love seeing Sierra have so much fun! Take a peek...

The RI National Guard Air Show!

This Father's Day weekend coincided with the Rhode Island National Guard Air Show. The 2-day event is a showcase of various military pilots, including the U.S. Air Force Demonstration Squadron, the Thunderbirds!
This year marked the 22nd anniversary. We were worried the noise would be too much for the girls, but they didn't mind it at all. For the first part of the show, Audrey slept while Sierra enjoyed all the military aircraft tours...
We walked through a huge Airforce C-5 Cargo plane...

We saw amazing flight demonstrations including, stunt planes doing 360 flips and turns and corkscrew dives, and an incredible plane that turned it's engines off and glided into amazing acrobatic turns and spirals down to finally land within inches of the announcer on the ground.
Once Audrey woke up, she loved seeing all the airplanes... She didn't miss one flying over head & always had a  big smile on her face and pointed toward the sky! She is definitely winning her Daddy's heart with her fun attitude and enthusiasm to things he enjoys.
We strapped Sierra into an apache helicopter...
...took lots of photos...
...and posed outside a praying mantis helicopter.!
It was a fun day for all of us. On the way out, there were war demonstrations with bombs dropping making loud booming sounds! Neither of the girls were worried since they knew their Daddy was there to protect them! Happy Father's Day!
