Our 1st Halloween in Rhode Island

This Halloween was cold. So cold, many trick or treaters added extra layers with jackets and sweaters over their costumes. Sierra really wanted to show off her Snow White costume, so we tucked the cutest sweater we could find underneath her outfit. It was a huge success! Sierra went proudly door to door hoping for treats in her pink furry sweater with a hoodie!Audrey and I stayed home to offer treats to the children that stopped by the house and had great fun meeting all the cute Trick or Treaters. Audrey loved the cool evening air too...

The house below seemed like no one was home, but Sierra had persistence...
She peeked through the mail slot and kept knocking. She knew someone was there. It took a while, but the woman finally opened the door and offered treats while she was on the phone. Sierra and her Daddy stopped by all the houses on Main Street and down several side streets.
Sierra's bag was filled to the top with candy and we let her have 3 pieces before getting ready to go to bed. Below is a great shot of our neighbors who live on Main street, Jim and Donna Jensen. Auntie Donna really went all out on the decor and costumes.
Our Halloween was fun & Sierra still wants to wear her Snow White costume every day. We hope your holiday was fun too!

The Horribles Parade & Trick or Treating!

Wickford's annual "Horribles" Parade was this past Sunday. All the children in costume and their parents parade down Main street from St. Paul's Parish Hall to gather by the Harbor.
The kids look so cute and many of the parents dress up too...

Audrey's angel costume wasn't warm enough for her to wear and she kept knocking off her angel halo...

Sierra dressed up as Snow White and helped us push Audrey down the street.

Our neighbor's joined the fun...Auntie Donna is the bumble bee with her Butterfly puppy named Tilly.

After the parade, the group sang Halloween songs and each received a bag of goodies from the town to go trick or treating from store to store...

Above Sierra and I are outside one of the local shops...the pumpkin decoration is a stack of cats one on top of the other...very creative!

Above Sierra and I are leaving one of the stores as a group of children are going in.

Sierra and Mommy with our bags of Halloween candy...my bag is for Audrey, of course.

One final photo exiting the last store...the weather warmed up a bit as we were heading home around 2pm. Happy Halloween everyone!

Our First Snow Day!

Believe it or not, it snowed in October! This was a rare occurance, although we were thrilled to have an early snow day! The entire town was covered in a few inches of snow. It was the perfect combination of rain and cold to make the frosty morning...Above, Audrey enjoys the cool morning air. And, below Sierra plays in the snow...
She loved having her princess boots on marching through the snowy slush!
Our backyard had a very serene and peaceful look to it...we won't be sitting at our firepit today!
Below is the image of snow falling late Saturday night...it snowed lightly all night to give us our white Sunday!
Just a short distance away in Massachusette's they got 21" of snow! We were lucky we were just dusted with snow on our first day. By mid-day the snow had melted and it warmed up to the 40's.

Below is a cute video of Sierra playing in the morning snow. Enjoy!

Halloween Party at the YMCA!

To kick off the Halloween festivities, our local YMCA held their annual Halloween party. This year it was held indoors due to the cold and rainy weather.
Above, Daddy, Sierra and Audrey are sitting in the Dance Party room as they project the Scoobie Doo movie on the back wall.

Sierra had a great time bouncing the balloons to and fro...

Above Sierra is exploring the not-so-scary Haunted Room and finds a jar of eyeballs and a few rats.

Sierra and I are arrive to the not-so-scary Halloween room together.

Introducing the Wickford Scarecrows!

Well it's that time of year again when local store owners compete for the best decorated scarecrow. We recall visting Rhode Island 2 years ago and happened upon the local competition. Now, we're in the midst of it again. Enjoy all the entries...

Above is the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland...

A really wicked looking gourd painted with a long scary tongue...

Above is the first place prize for scariest scarecrow... Perseus with the beheaded Medusa!

The Pampers Bus is Back!

It's been about a year since we've seen the Pampers Bus... and now it's back! Audrey loves being pulled around and often likes to climb into the bus just to sit.

It's funny how the simplest of toys can bring such happiness...

Enjoy the cute video of Audrey going round and round in her bus!

Our Sunrise...

This morning, Audrey woke up early. She was hungry, so I warmed her bottle and she had breakfast around 6:30a.m. When we were done, we stepped outside and saw the most beautiful pink sky... Thank you Audrey for showing me such a spectacular sunrise!

Having Fun at Wilson Park

Sierra loves going to the park. Wilson Park is about 5 blocks from our home and has lots of great slides and monkey bars.

We let Audrey have few swings and she loved it. Above you can tell, she's really getting into it!

Audrey was having a ball swinging with her Daddy. She was all laughs and giggles the entire time!

Her daddy even gave her a few rounds on the slide...what an adventurer!

Sierra showed off on the very tip top of the corkscrew! She's so brave!!!

We're enjoying the last of the summer weather! Below is a cute video of Sierra on the slide. Enjoy!
