Visiting Jamestown & Beaver Tail...

There is so much to see in Rhode Island. We decided to take the tour one weekend at a time. This past weekend, we visited Beaver Tail which is just past the town of Jamestown. At the point of the peninsula is a state park and the town Lighthouse. It's very charming and has a very small aquarium that shows the native wildlife such as sea turtles, land tortoises, lobster, snakes and a variety of fish. Sierra especially loved the small turtles.
The coastline was also very diverse with dramatic rocks that lead to a small inlet. The beach is filled with small rocks instead of sand.
The day we visited it was raining a bit, but that doesn't keep Rhode Islanders away...this is summertime and there are only a few weeks left to play outside!
After visiting Beaver Tail Park, we returned through Jamestown and had an early dinner and icecream for dessert.
Below is a photo of the harbor & ferry...

Above Audrey shares a moment with her Daddy at dinner. We had a wonderful time exploring the town and the best part was it was only 15 minutes away from our home!

Visiting Our Neighbors, the Jensen's!

Wickford is a small community of houses on the harbor. Our neighbors, the Jensen's, live here during the Summertime and travel to Nevada for the Winter. Most late afternoons we spend time visiting in their yard. Below Audrey is pictured with Donna.

Donna's originally from California and she's so funny. She loves to play with the girls.
Audrey really likes her...especially when she makes her laugh!
It's late August and the weather is starting to cool down. Most days are in the mid 80's and the evenings drop to low 70's. We are loving it!

Tuesday Nights are Music Nights!

During the Summer months in Wickford, the town has musical performances on the Bay. From our house, you can see the band across the water and the music is wonderful! Most Tuesdays, we either join our neighbors for a gathering or we sit outside by our fire pit.
This particular Tuesday just happened to be Daddy's birthday. We played it low-key and celebrated his day at home. Above, the proud father kisses his Tiger Lily, Audrey Faith!

Above is a great photo of the birthday boy and his 2 best girls. And, pictured below Mommy poses with her girls!

It was a wonderful, quiet evening!

Earlier in the day, we had a special birthday lunch at a small gourmet restaurant called "Foodies of Wickford." A musician was playing the guitar for patrons. Just for Sierra he played a special rendition of "You are my sunshine!" We all loved it!

By the way, another reason we know we were meant to live here: August 8th is a Rhode Island holiday - Victory Day, which coincides with Victor's Day and I even got the day off work! We love and miss you all!
