It's a Hot, Hot, Hot July!

Sierra loves to talk about how she loves the pool. Some days the first thing she says in the morning is, "Pool" and she'll repeat the word all day long until we go in the pool. We don't mind because seeing the smile on her face when we tell her to get her suit on is priceless! She'll run to the bedroom, grab her suit and pull it over her head. It's so fun for Victor and I to watch!

Once outside in the pool, she loves to splash, kick and play. When Daddy does something, she'll often repeat it...like laying down on his back or spraying the hose. Sierra has started imitating the things we say and do. What a fun time we're having at 19 months. Below is a photo of Gigi one morning with Sierra underneath her playground. I had to put this online as "proof" of my mother playing with Sierra on her playground!
Next are a few photos of Sierra in a new dress her Louisiana Grandmother, Mimi, sent Sierra - a cute sundress. It was so comfortable, Sierra loved playing in it. Too bad it only lasted a day or two. Anything white does not hold up to the Sierra test... I think we had strawberries that day and went to the park!

Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. Thank you Mimi! We especially love the other 2 dresses you sent! They are still Sierra's favorites and she wears them often!

Sierra sends kisses to everyone! Have a wonderful day!

Sierra's 4th of July Weekend Fun...

This July 4th weekend, we ventured to the Grand Cypress Hotel, down the road from our house, to enjoy a "hometown getaway." We had lots of fun, especially in the pool. The Grand Cypress has a series of caverns and waterfalls that offer shade and lulling waterfall sounds. Sierra loved swimming, diving and sliding all day long. However, as you can see in the next few photos, Sierra was not very fond of the beach, specifically the sand between her toes. Our little "Drama Queen" pulled out all the stops to keep from walking on the sand.
Victor and I were surprised by her insistance on keeping her toes free from sand. For 2 days in a row, we tried to acclimate her to the sandy beach, with no luck at all.
The look of concern overwhelmed Sierra as she stood on the towel safe from the sand. Her Daddy was always within arms reach. We tried to get her to touch the sand with her toes and she wanted nothing of it.Once back on the towel, Sierra would leap into our arms and wrap her legs as tight as she could around either of us, so we wouldn't put her down, chanting "Pool, Pool, Pool" the whole time.
Once she was back in the pool, Sierra was all smiles again!
We brought books along too for afternoon reading.
Sierra walked around the pool greeting all the guests with a nice, big, welcoming, "Hi!" along with a friendly wave.
Sierra was like a fish in the water...happy as can be, kicking and swimming!
Sierra posing with her Daddy by the waterfalls.
We hope your holiday weekend was as fun and relaxing as ours! Happy Independence Day!

Below are a couple fun videos we took of Sierra jumping in the pool and riding down the slide with her daddy. Enjoy!

Sierra's New "Bumble Bee" Sundress

Sierra loves pretty dresses and she loves to talk about "Bees". Her favorite color is also yellow, or as she likes to call it, "Banana." So, when we found this adorable little yellow sundress with bees on it, we knew Sierra would love it!
We were right. She felt so pretty wearing it, and wanted to see herself dressed up in the mirror.
We took lots of cute photos of her for everyone to enjoy!

We love you Sierra Grace, and did we mention you are, "B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L!"

Sierra's Alphabet Purse!

Sierra is learning to love the alphabet. We have a puzzle with animal pictures for each letter and she loves to turn it upsidedown so all the letters fall out, then put them back one-by-one. On this particular day, Sierra put all her letters in her purse to carry them around with her everywhere she went. These are a couple photos showing her and her with her "Alphabet purse".
